Gave a stat about heroin overdoses in NYC that works out to 800 a year - in 2021 there were 2668 overall overdose deaths, a 234% increase against just a 19% increase in population. Also mentions the "regulation" WWII era diet of 3000 calories a day. I looked up the study and it was more like 3600, but that may have been the baseline for soldiers in the field.
